Get the mechanic

Today's blanket sin
In urbaniak entry about the proper use of the word [sic] in journalism, I race back to my entry about Roger Clemens to include it in the dialog he uses to address the question "Do you do drugs? or are you a real baseball player?" Thanks for the suggestion urbaniak. Are u the real Urbaniak?

I got the photo idea to this doodle from a 1960's edition of Time Magazine. I was surprised to see how humble basballers have become. In the article Forgotten Man, Pete Runnells explains his homerun technique.

When I get one over the fence, I'm doing something wrong. I was born to hit to leftfield. I never could pull, from the first day I picked up a bat. I pull a ball and you know where it goes? It goes to right centerfield, that's where.

Another interesting bit of trivia is Runnell's treatment by the system. Though identity theft probably didn't exist back in 1962, Runnells was constantly affronted by the typos various organizations would mispell his last name, lacking a double "l". it becomes so frustrating, having received his paychecks, silver bats with the typo, that he ends up signing autographs with one "l".

It don't make no real nevermind
